A model-based approach towards reliability engineering

So, why would we need all the asset condition data we can collect? Is anybody within our reliability organization even capable of handling the ever growing volume of data points? 📊
This is not the way we should go. A focused effort on understanding top management priorities and risks to the business gives us the insight we need. Then we know which models of our systems we need to be build. And only then we start to gather the data to support and improve our decision making. 📡
This will lead to good things 🚀:
- Externalising asset knowledge from our SMEs in simple computer models
- Increasing adoption by field staff;now the effort of collecting all data points has a clear use
- Focus on goals important to senior management
It helps building our business case and proving our value to the organization.
